Let the price of 1 shirt be represented by = s

A pair of pants costs twice as much as a shirt, then the cost of pants is = 2s

The total cost of 1 pair of pants and 1 shirt is $18 , means : s+2s=18

Solving this we get,

3s=18

s=6

So, the price of 1 shirt is $6 and price of 1 pair of pants is = 2s = 2*6 = $12.

Answer:

s + 2s = 18, will be the equation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 's' represents the cost of 1 shirt.

As per given statement in the question "a pair of pants costs twice as much as a shirt".

The cost of a pair of pants = $2s

The total cost of 1 pair of pants and 1 shirt = $18

so the equation to find the cost of 1 shirt will be

s + 2s = 18

3s = 18

\frac{3s}{3}=\frac{18}{3}

s = $6

A landscaper is planting a row of 10 shrubs along the walkway shown below. There must be one shrub at the very beginning and one
rewona [7]

Answer:

9d = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

See attachment for complete question

Length = 36ft

n = 10

From the question, we understand that one shrub must be at both ends.

Taking the first as a point of reference, we're left with:

(n - 1) * distance = 36

Substitute 10 for n and d for distance

(10 - 1) * d = 36

9 * d = 36

9d = 36

Hence:

9d = 36 answers the question

Answer:

Program C allows students to earn a Mathematics degree (B.A. or B.S.) by combining courses in the Department of Mathematics with courses from one other department.  In most areas of specializations, mathematical and/or quantitative courses in other departments are part of the math degree program.  All Program C students take a minimum of five core math courses:  Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Introduction to Linear Algebra, and a proofs course, usually either Introduction to Abstract Algebra or Fundamental Properties of Spaces and Functions I.
