All women are born with millions of immature egg cells in their ovaries. Ovulation happens when an ovary releases a mature egg through the fallopian tube. This process of getting an egg to mature will take approximately a month. Normally, only one of the pairs of ovaries will release a matured egg ready to be fertilized. Usually, it will take 12-24 hours before the matured ovum dies when not fertilized. But when they are fertilized, they cling to the walls of the uterus.

Why are otters so important to are world? what would happen if the whole population was lost.
borishaifa [10]
I think Sea otters are an iconic species, representing the beauty and diversity of marine life found along California’s coastline. They’re also considered a keystone species because of their critical importance to the health and stability of the nearshore marine ecosystem. They eat sea urchins and other invertebrates that graze on giant kelp. Without sea otters, these grazing animals can destroy kelp forests and consequently the wide diversity of animals that depend upon kelp habitat for survival. Additionally, kelp forests protect coastlines from storm surge and absorb vast amounts of harmful carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Sea otters are also considered a sentinel species because their health reflects that of California’s coastal waters.

The independent assortment is the distribution of different genes into two gametes, is independent, because the distribution of the different genes, does not influence the distribution of the other genes. The independent assortment leads to new combinations of genes from the parental and maternal side, resulting in offsprings that do not look exactly like their parents.
