The correct answer is - Abbeys, cathedrals, and universities.

Abbeys were the places were usually monks were living. The cathedrals were places of great religious and cultural importance. The universities were the places were the people from the high class were educated.

All three types of buildings managed to survive to the present and to be modern day representatives of the once dominant and glorious Gothic architecture across Europe. These types of buildings managed to survive mainly because they were all objects of great importance and value, they represented status, wealth, knowledge, religion, tradition, culture, and nowadays they are still seen as such. The Gothic architecture can be seen in most of Western and Central Europe, and one of the best representatives of this type of medieval architecture are the cities of Prague in the Czechia (till recently Czech Republic) and Cologne in Germany.

What two things were accomplished in the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty II signed by President Carter and Premier Brezhnev?
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

The Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty II aimed to:

b. Banned any new development of nuclear weapons

d. Managed to reduce the size of their nuclear arsenals

Explanation:

The Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty II or SALT II was the continuation of a previous attempt to regulate the nuclear arms threat between the US and the USSR.  This happened during a period known as the Cold War where the world was divided into 2 blocks competing for power: the Capitalist block led by the US, and the Communist block led by the USSR.

Both countries had developed large arsenals of nuclear weapons and a war between them would've had catastrophic consequences.  Talks between President Jimmy Carter and Premier Brezhnev began in November 1974.  They agreed to: limit the size of their nuclear arsenals, limit the development of new weapons, and limit the deployment of new offensive weapons.

The treaty was signed on June 18, 1979.

Explain the relationship between colonization, Imperialism, and decolonization.
Zepler [3.9K]

Answer:

The term "imperialism" was first used in the 1830s to recall Napoleonic ambitions. It gained its core contemporary meaning around the turn of the century as a description of the feverish colonial expansion of Britain, France, Germany, Russia, the United States, and Italy. But the term is not confined to formal colonial expansion; in particular, the continuing dependence of much of the Third Worldon Western states
