The corresponding sequence in the RNA transcript is 5'-UACGACUG-3' . One of the differences between DNA and RNA is the fact that the RNA contains the base uracil instead of thyamine. The base pairing occurs between A and T, and G and C. DNA undergoes the process of transcription in the nucleus to generate RNA, which then undergoes translation (for mRNA) in the cytoplasm to yield proteins.

A camel has a hump to store water so it can survive in its desert environment. Which kind of adaptation is this?
pychu [463]

Answer:

Camels actually store FAT and not water in their hump. This is called structural adaption.

Explanation:

Camels’ unique physiology and adaptations allow them to survive, even in the harshest conditions of the desert. Camels have thick fur to protect them from the heat, fat hump to serve as food storage, they rarely sweat, and can go for weeks without water. These are only a few reasons how camels survive in the desert, even without water.

Hope this helps you!

All of the following are differences in transcription, RNA processing, and translation between prokaryotes and eukaryotes except
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

the mRNA goes through extensive modifications such as addition of a poly tail and a 5' cap in eukaryotes but not in prokaryotes.

Differences:

- the promoters in prokaryotes have a -35 and -10 box while in eukaryotes they are variable but have a TATA box from

- the transcription initiation site there is a single RNA polymerase in prokaryotes while eukaryotes have multiple RNA polymerases

- the sigma factor associates with the promoter region in prokaryotes but in eukaryotes there are many basal transcription factors

Explanation:

Ribosomal and transfer RNAs are processed both in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. However, mRNA is only processed in eukaryotes. In eukaryotic cells, mRNA processing involves:

1. Capping at the 5' end. This process has several functions including regulation of nuclear export, prevention of eukaryotic mRNA degradation and promotion of translation.

2. Splicing in order to remove introns and conserve coding exons. Splicing helps to increase the diversity of the eukaryotic mRNAs (and therefore eukaryotic proteins)

3. Polyadenylation by the addition of a poly(A) tail at the 3' end. The poly(A) tail makes the eukaryotic mRNA molecule more stable and also prevents its degradation by exonucleases.

Nutrients enter a cell ______ the concentration gradient by the process of _______.
sergejj [24]
A. Nutrients and other materials pass through the cell membrane through the process of diffusion. This allows the cell to perform all the activities it requires for daily maintenance and living. The concentration gradient allows the cell to regulate just how much of a certain material passes through it.
