 The answer would be D. Yorktown was the final battle of the US Revolutionary War, where US forces defeated General Cornwallis for a British surrender. Other factors that affected this patriot win was bad weather so the Brits couldn't escape as well as the French blocking all ship routes out, trapping them. Washington knew that if he caught this town, it would be very influential, and he was right. After this loss, Parliament started working out peace treaties with the US in order to end this war because they were finding it to be too long and to expensive since they were dealing with France at the same time.
