Each mainland with the exception of Antarctica has a mainland separation, and like North America, a couple have mutiple. In South America, the Continental Divide lies along the Andes Mountains.  

This gap keeps running from Cape Prince of Wales in western Alaska, through the Rocky Mountains of western Canada and the mainland United States, at that point through the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains in Mexico, through Central America and along the Andes Mountains of South America.
