The Tang and Song dynasties are seen as two dynasties that brought progress, peace, and development of China and the people in China. They are successive dynasties, with Tang being the predecessor of the Song dynasty.
The Tang Dynasty managed to:
- expand the territory of China in Central Asia, Manchuria, and Korea
- reunited the country and brought peace and prosperity
- improved the infrastructure
- implemented examinations for higher positions in order to have only high quality people in the most important positions
The Song Dynasty managed to:
- continue what the Tang Dynasty was doing
- improved the relations and trade with other countries, significantly expanding both
