Actually I'll just answer "who is he".
Rick Riordan is the author of the best-selling Percy Jackson series, as well as the Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Norse Gods, and the Kane Chronicles. Basically, he is famous and well-known among all famous authors.
