Write nine and thirty-six hundredths with a decimal point

Mathematics
1 answer:
WINSTONCH [101]3 years ago
5 0
The answer is 9.36. There is nine which equals 9, "and" means point or the decimal point and six means 6 and "hundredths" represents the position of the number which is in the hundredths place. When you count numbers to the right, you add "ths" so if there wasn't a 6 and just a 3, then it would be tenths.

Find the area of the shape shown below. I NEED HELP NOWWWWWW
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer:

<h2> 12.5 units{}^{2}</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given figure : Trapezoid

Base sides,

a = 2.5

b = 7.5

Height ( h ) = 2.5

Now, finding the area:

\frac{1}{2} (a + b) \times h

Plug the values

=  \frac{1}{2 }  \times (2.5 + 7.5) \times 2.5

Calculate the sum

=  \frac{1}{2}  \times 10 \times 2.5

Reduce the numbers with G.C.F 2

= 5 \times 2.5

Calculate the product

12.5 \:  \:  {units}^{2}

Hope this helps...

Best regards!

The length of a rectangle is 1 more yd than twice the width, and the area of the rectangle is 66 yd squared. Find the dimensions
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Width = 5.5yd

Length = 12yd

<u>Explanation:</u>

Area of rectangle =  66yd^{2}

Let width of the rectangle = b ,

So, length = 2b+1

Area of rectangle = (length X width) - eqn 1

Putting the value of length and width in above equation 1,

66yd^{2} = (2b+1) X b\\66yd^{2} = 2b^{2} + b\\2b^{2} +b-66 = 0\\

On solving the equation we get,

b = 5.5yd

So, width (b) = 5.5yd

and length = 2(5.5) + 1

l = 12yd

Hence,

Width = 5.5yd

Length = 12yd

Assuming you are creating a book with 991 pages with a size of 8.5in x 11in, how many words will the story be?
KiRa [710]

This question is solved using proportions, as the table gives us the number of words per page given the dimensions, and the number of pages, which lets us calculate the number of words.

Doing this, we get that the story will be composed of 792,800 words.

-------------------------------------------

  • According to the table, pages of dimensions 8.5in x 11in have 800 words.
  • The book has 991 pages, of 8.5in x 11in dimensions.

Thus, considering that there will be 991 pages, each with 800 words, the total number of words in the story will be of:

991 \times 800 = 792,800

The story will be composed of 792,800 words.
