On a cloudy night the temperature is higher as compared to that of the clear sky thus we tend to feel more humidity and warm air at night time and the clouds carry enough raindrop and thereby general air temperature on a cloudy night is higher as they block the air movement and create a blockage. And thereby creates an insulating layer.
