When reading fiction, you're probably focused on finding out what happens in the story and how it ends. When you read a work of

fiction for a literature class, however, you need to go beyond the first surface reading. What is your approach to reading literature for a class? Have you tried a close reading of a fictional text? We haven’t really discussed an approach to close reading yet, so think about what you do now. What reading techniques do you use when you try to go beyond the surface story to really understand the layers of meaning in a work of fiction? Write your response in two to three paragraphs.

What is the purpose of the two opposing types of characterization in to kill a mocking bird.
Yanka [14]

Answer:

here ya go

Explanation:

The social expectations of Maycomb, Alabama are the antagonist of To K1ll a Mockingbird. The community of Maycomb grows largely hostile to Atticus and his children because Atticus has chosen to behave outside the expectations of those around him to uphold the rac15t status quo. Even Tom Robinson’s guilty verdict and eventual d8th are the result of Mayella Ewell’s decision to act outside social expectations that she not become s*xually involved with a black man. Mayella would rather wrongfully accuse an innocent man of r8pe than admit she made a s*xual advance at someone outside her race. Scout runs into conflict over her father’s expectations regarding how she should behave as a daughter, her teacher’s expectations regarding how she should behave as a student, her aunt’s expectations regarding how she should behave as a girl, and Jem and Dill’s expectations regarding how she should behave as a friend.
