I'd say that the one of the commas are not needed in the sentence, and that there is no period towards the end of the sentence.

But I may be wrong, since I haven't learned too much of nonresective or nonessential phrases.

The phrase is non-restrictive or not essential because speaking the younger sibling's name is irrelevant so that the reader understands the message that the phrase wants to pass. You see, when the speaker of the phrase speaks "My younger brother," the reader already knows whom the speaker is referring to, it is not necessary to speak the name of the speaker's brother.
