Nematocysts functions to protect cnidarian animals. Nematocyst contain cnidoblast, this structure has a small thread filled with poison or venom that is released when stimulated by external triggers. Nematocysts are important in avoiding predators and for survival of cnidarian species.

Basically, there are two high tides and two low tides occuring at the same time. This is due to the varying forces that the moon does depending on the water's position on earth.
