22. Alternate angles

23. 4: (h_{b} = 2 \frac{a}{b}, substitute b with 10 and a with 20 and you get 4.)

24. 0.28: 0.12 + 0.60 = 0.72. Probability is always out of 1, so 1 - 0.72 should give you the probability of losing, which is 0.28.

The length of human pregnancies from conception to birth follows a distribution with mean 266 days and standard deviation 15 day
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

a) 81.5%

b) 95%

c) 75%

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question:

Mean, μ = 266 days

Standard Deviation, σ = 15 days

We are given that the distribution of  length of human pregnancies is a bell shaped distribution that is a normal distribution.

Formula:

z_{score} = \displaystyle\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

a) P(between 236 and 281 days)

P(236 \leq x \leq 281)\\\\= P(\displaystyle\frac{236 - 266}{15} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{281-266}{15})\\\\= P(-2 \leq z \leq 1)\\\\= P(z \leq 1) - P(z < -2)\\= 0.838 - 0.023 = 0.815 = 81.5\%

b) a) P(last between 236 and 296)

P(236 \leq x \leq 281)\\\\= P(\displaystyle\frac{236 - 266}{15} \leq z \leq \displaystyle\frac{296-266}{15})\\\\= P(-2 \leq z \leq 2)\\\\= P(z \leq 2) - P(z < -2)\\= 0.973 - 0.023 = 0.95 = 95\%

c) If the data is not normally distributed.

Then, according to Chebyshev's theorem, at least 1-\dfrac{1}{k^2}  data lies within k standard deviation of mean.

For k = 2

1-\dfrac{1}{(2)^2} = 75\%

Atleast 75% of data lies within two standard deviation for a non normal data.

Thus, atleast 75% of pregnancies last between 236 and 296 days approximately.

The equation (2x^2 - 1)(3x+2) = (2x²)(3x) + (2x²)(2) + (-1)(3x)+(-1)(2) is an example
Nookie1986 [14]

The method used is Distributive Property.

<h3>What is Distributive property?</h3>

The Distributive Property is an algebraic property that is used to multiply a single value and two or more values within a set of parenthesis.

Given:

(2x² - 1)(3x+2) = (2x²)(3x) + (2x²)(2) + (-1)(3x)+(-1)(2)

Here the property used is Distributive property.

Because distributive property in this way

a*(b+c)= a*b+ a*c

This is how a is being multiplied by with b and c.

A shelter in the city house birds and dogs . There are 25% more dogs then birds. If there are 50 birds how many dogs are there?
AfilCa [17]

Answer:

They have 83 dogs and 50 birds.

There are 133 animals in total in the shelter.

Step-by-step explanation:

So let's call the dogs D and the birds B.

D = 25% + B

What ever the amount of animals, the total for D must always be 25% more than B.

To get 100% of the animals, B must equal 37.5% and D must equal 62.5%.

The way I worked this out was:

100% - 25%= 75%

75% divided by 2= 37.5%

37.5% + 25%= 62.5%

And just to check

37.5% + 62.5% = 100%

So to work out 100%:

37.5% = 50

divide both by 37.5 to get 1%

1% = 1.333333

time both by 62.5 to get 62.5%

62.5% = 83.333313

We'll round that answer because I'm pretty sure they don't have a .333313th of a dog.

So D = 62.5% = 83

They have 83 dogs and 50 birds.

Phew! That was the hard part. Now onto something wayyy easier.

To get the total number of animals in the shelter we just do 83 + 50, which is 133.

There are 133 animals in total in the shelter.

Hope this helps you :)

A town has a population of 2000 and grows at 4% every year what will be the population after 15 years to the nearest whole numbe
fomenos

To begin lets say year one the population is 2,000

assume this in percent we can say that 2,000=100%

at the end of this year the population will have grown by 4% meaning that

100%+4% will be the new population =104%

but we know that 100%=2,000 so what about 104%=X?

so (104*2000)/100=2,080

So year 1 the population will have grown by 80 people amounting to 2080 people.

Now do it manually year by year until we reach the 15th year. i will help you up to year 3

2nd year= (2080*104)/100=2163.2

3rd year= (2163*104)/100=2249.728
