Which sentence in this passage correctly uses the semicolon? Jane was tired of living an unassuming life; in the suburbs. She ye

arned to expand her horizons and travel the length and breadth of the world. She was also very curious to learn; and have new experiences. Just last year, she spent four months learning a foreign language in the hope that a job opportunity abroad would open up to her. However; all her attempts were in vain. But, instead of getting dismayed, she put on her bravest face and continued working toward her goal. She had made up her mind; she was going to travel the world one way or another.

The sentence, that correctly uses the semi colon is this: SHE HAD MADE UP HER MIND; SHE WAS GOING TO TRAVEL THE WORLD ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.
A semi colon is typically used to join together in a single sentence two independent clauses, which are closely related and equal in rank. The independent clauses joined by the semi colon are usually able to stand on their own as a complete sentence. For instance, in the example above, the two  sentences 'She has made up her mind' and 'She was going to travel the world one way or another' can stand on their own as a sentence.
