The atmosphere in the Russian revolution has two sides, one full of feelings of joy, hope and illusion and one of fear, hunger and gloom, this was the general mix of Russia after 1917, they came from authoritarian measures by the Tsar , from periods of hunger and lost wars such as the war against Japan, the change was necessary but since in the last 20 years many events had passed people felt very uncertain

No.  Japan bombed the Pearl Harbor mainly due to being desperate.  The US had placed an embargo (no trade rule) on Japan.  This led to no trade between the US and Japan and led Japan to losing a lot of money.
