A sedan will drive ten miles north, 15 miles east, 13 miles south, 15 miles west, and 22 miles north. The sedan gets 20 miles pe

r gallon, and there are five gallons of gas left in the tank. Compute the relative distance and the total distance. Then decide if there is enough fuel for the trip.
I know that there isn't enough fuel for the trip and that the total distance is 75, what I need to know is what the relative distance is.

<u>Answer</u>:

There is enough fuel for the trip and the relative distance is 19 miles

<u>Explanation</u>:

Given Sedan drives

10 miles north

15 miles east

13 miles south

15 miles west

22 miles north

Then total distance = 10 + 15 + 13 + 15 + 22 = 75 miles

There are 5 gallons of gas left and sedan gets 20 miles per gallon

20 miles = 1 gallon

75 miles = 75/20 = 3.75 gallons

Gas left = 5 – 3.75 = 1.25 gallon

So, there is enough fuel for the trip

Relative distance = 10 (north) + 15 (east) – 13 (south) – 15 (west) + 22 (north) = 19 miles

Help me Solve 1/6 ÷ 2/6 please
pochemuha
\frac{1}{6} ÷ \frac{2}{6}

First, apply this following rule: a ÷ \frac{b}{x} = a × \frac{c}{b}
\frac{1}{6} × \frac{6}{2}
Second, apply this following rule: \frac{a}{b} × \frac{c}{d} =  \frac{ac}{bd}
\frac{1x6}{6x2}
Third, multiply 1 × 6 to get 6 and 6 × 2 to get 12.
\frac{6}{12}
Fourth, find the GCF of 6 and 12.
Factors of 6: 1, 2, 3, 6
Factors of 12: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
The GCF is 6.
Fifth, divide the numerator by the GCF.
6 ÷ 6 = 1
Sixth, divide the denominator by the GCF.
12 ÷ 6 = 2
Seventh, collect the new numerator and new denominator.
