<em>Georgian politicians have created some strategies to secure Western Georgia. </em>To protect its sovereignty and national security, Georgia has launched reforms sucha as the “National Security Review”, with the help of state agencies, the military, and civil institutions.
The priority of the security policy of Georgia is a flexible, permanent, and efficient plan for crisis reaction system in coordination with the Georgian legislation, to quickly resolve any contingency.
After the “Rose Revolution” in November 2003, Georgia solidified its place in Europe and established relationships with NATO and the European Union, to strengthen its foreign policy.
On August 12, 2008, Georgia committed to the non-use of force obligations signed on the “Russian-Georgian Ceasefire Agreement.” Another important aspect is the European Union Monitoring Mission(EUMM) that helps in the peace process of the region.
Georgian politicians maintain good relationships with Ukraine and Turkey. Georgia supports Ukraine role as a peaceful state, defending democracy and the security of the region. With Turkey –an important trade partner- Georgia supports its political goals of sovereignty and political, economic, and security stability.
