Define these two types of construction: truss and suspension,
DerKrebs [107]

1. Define these two types of construction: truss and suspension.

A "truss" is a type of structure that is being used when building infrastructures<em> (mainly the roof)</em>. In this type of structure, force is mainly applied to only two points. Thus, the term <em>"two-force members"</em> that constitutes the structure.

A "suspension" is a type of structure that is also being used particularly in making bridges<em> (Suspension bridges). </em>They can also be used in making large-span roofs in industrial buildings.

2. What are the benefits of using each type of construction?

The main benefit of using "truss" is that load is applied only on the two joints. This makes it <em>physically stronger, easier to install and cost-effective.</em> Suspension structure, on the other hand, <em>allows the transmission of loads to the ground.</em> This is made possible with the help of a number of cables.

3. What do these two types of construction have in common?

Both of the "truss" and "suspension" are <u>cost-effective for they only need a few amount of supplies.</u> Both of them carry loads by distributing them to other places. The weight of a roof in a "truss" is being distributed to the <em>other walls</em> while the weight of the roof in a "suspension" is being distributed to cable going down the ground.

omeli [17]

Answer:

March 15, 2014 Today, March 15, 2014, the residents of New York City took advantage of the spring weather to join the NYC Historical Society in burying a time capsule. Their hope is that on March 15, 2114, it will be opened and the future residents of NYC will have a testament of what life was like 100 years in the past.

Locked away in the titanium cylinder are important artifacts from the present day. "I want people of the future to understand what our lives were like, day to day — how we communicated and how we spent our days," said 14-year-old Sylvia.

"Yeah, when they open this," exclaimed middle school student, Devonne, "they are not going to believe their eyes!"

The objects inserted into the time capsule are varied. They were chosen by citizens from all walks of life and professions. Among those asked to contribute to the time capsule were librarians, teens, computer programmers, medical professionals, research scientists, gardeners, neurologists, biologists, and more.

Etched onto the surface of the time capsule are the words of the author, William Faulkner, as he accepted the 1950 Nobel Prize for Literature:

"I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance."

The capsule was buried today, with much hope for the future.

What is a Baroque convention Bernini used in<br> his David?
kramer

Answer:

Bernini made David in a proper three dimensional attribute.

Explanation:

The movement of Baroque is characterized by a lot of new ways to create sculptures. Unlike traditional pattern wherein the sculpture can be seen in only one angle, the baroque sculpture needed an eye to revolve around the entire figure. David is a fine sculpture by Bernini, wherein David is about to slay Goliath with his sling and stone. The wholesome artwork of sculpture is finely rendered form top to bottom and front and back. You need to see and appreciate it from all the angles.
