What does hadero mean when she uses the term, "sonic lineages". what does she describe as her own sonic lineages?
SashulF [63]
Hadero uses the term "sonic lineages" to refer to the influence that has shaped her as a musician. This influence doesn't begin and end with other musicians that she had listened to before she herself became a musician. She grew up listening to jazz and hip-hop. But she owes most to the natural world, its sounds and music, such as bird songs. A complete silence is nearly impossible, and therefore, we are being influenced all the time.

Which sentences from the passage match each type of figurative language?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

Simile - Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse.

Metaphor - Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air.

Personification - After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face.

Explanation:

A simile, is figure of speech, that makes a comparison between two things, using the words "like", or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Suddenly, a striped orange cat galloped toward Janine like a racehorse." </em>, that the narrator is comparing how the cat galloped, to the gallop of a racehorse.

A metaphor, is a figure of speech that makes a comparison, <em>without</em> using the words "like" or "as". We can see that in the sentence, <em>"Tiger's purr was a chainsaw that sliced through the air"</em>, that the narrator is comparing Tiger's purr to a chainsaw.

A personification, is figure of speech, in which inanimate objects, are given human attributes. We can see in the sentence, <em>"After she closed the door, silence slapped her in the face"</em>, that the personification is, silence slapped her in the face. Because we can't physically feel and touch silence, there is no way that silence could do the same to us.
