one cares about demonstrative pronouns. Relative and interrogative
pronouns are similar, but interrogative pronouns can only be used in
questions, while relative pronouns can be used in any context.

It is necessary because if you don't have a confirmed opinion with textual evidence to back it up you wont have a good argument.
