Answer:

The answer is D. To understand the story in a new way

Explanation:

When someone reads a story the person firstly has the impresion about what literally say in it, what the characters say and what the narrator says, however, when a reader looks for the background of the author, it means the historical facts that were taken place when the author wrote the story, the author's personal viewpoints, the real places mentioned in story, among other aspects. Thus, the person would understand the reason why the author describes certain situations, uses certain words, and even some issues will be more relevant, in that sense the reader would understand the story in a different and new way. For example, in the novel "The Picture of Dorian Grey" knowing the school of thought of the author and how was the society structured in the epoch would make the reader understand why does Henry talk with such irony, the ideas beyond the story, among other aspects.

Read these lines from Emily Dickinson's poem "712"("Because I could not stop for Death"):
arsen [322]

Answer:

A. abcb

Explanation:

Read the poem out loud, paying particular attention the the last sounds of every line. Rhyming words sometimes look alike, but it's the sound that matters.

Death pronounced: deth

me pronounced: meee

selves pronounced: selvz "elvz" and "eth" are not similar.

ty pronounced: teeee Also has "eeee" sound like line 2.

To write the scheme, answer 'Does this line's last sound rhyme with anything above it?"

If no, continue with the alphabet.

If yes, take the letter from the line it rhymes with.

Line 1 No (nothing is above it)

          "a"

Line 2 No (not above)

          "b"

Line 3 No

           "c"

Line 4 Yes, Line 2!

           "b"

The rhyming scheme is abdb.
