Answer:

5 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

I think your question is missed of key information, allow me to add in and hope it will fit the original one.  Please have a look at the attached photo.

My answer:

Given that:

  • Each grid unit represents 1 mile
  • Pedro's routes are: historic village => the science center => the museum
  • Speed of 2 7/10 = \frac{27}{10} miles per hour

and the given coordinates are:

historic village (-4 1/2, 5 1/4) = (-4.5, 5.25)

science center (-4 1/2, -1 3/4) = (-4.5, -1.75)

the museum (2, -1 3/4) = (2, -1.75)

=> The distance from historic village to the science center :

=\sqrt{(-4.5 -(-4.5))^{2} + (-1.75 - 5.25)^{2} }  = 7

=> The distance from the science center to the museum:

= \sqrt{(2 -(-4.5))^{2} + (-1.75 - (-1.75))^{2} } = 6.5

=> the total distance he travel is: 7 + 6.5 = 13.5 miles

The hours he traveled is: 13.5 miles /  \frac{27}{10} miles per hour

= 5 hours

a total of 243 adults and children are at a movie theater. there are 109 more adults then children. How many adults are there? H
fenix001 [56]
We can make an equation for this (x is the number of children)
x + (x + 109) = 243 \\ 2x + 149 = 243 \\ 2x = 243 - 149 = 134
x = \frac{134}{2} = 67

there are 67 children in the theater

67+ 109=176

and there are 176 adults.

good luck
