Sindrei [870]4 years ago
7 0

Answer: D)

Explanation:

  • Those sentence are using customary abbreviation for ''that is'' or ''id est'' and that is i.e. which is always written with full stop so the answer B) could not be correct.
  • When we are using a percentage, it is correct to write the numbers as it should and not with words, so the answer A) is not correct to.
  • Forty-three is correctly written and it should be written like that while other whole numbers could be written in a different way.

What is pacing? Why is it important?
Goshia [24]
Pacing in regards to writing is the rate at which big events happen. For example, a story would have slow pacing if it's mostly just people having small talk. When a murder or catharsis occurs, the pace picks up. When a piece of literature or filmography has bad pacing, the transition between slow and fast pacing is all but nonexistent. When it has good pacing, the big events are molded into the story appropriately and naturally. Hope this helped.

3. Craft and Structure: Why does the narrator compare the wait for her father to
kherson [118]

In "Persepolis" by Marjane Satrapi, the narrator compares the wait for her father to come home to "the same silence as before a storm" because:

The silence before a storm is broken by awful thunders and heavy rain. Similarly, the silence in her home as she, her mother, and her grandmother waited for her father to return could be broken by awful news.

  • "Persepolis" is a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi based on her life experiences as child in Iran during the revolution.
  • In the story, the narrator is also just a child. Her father has left home to take pictures of the demonstrators out in the streets.
  • Taking photos was forbidden, and her father had been arrested before.
  • The family was now afraid something worse might happen to him.
  • They waited for him in complete silence. The narrator compares that situation to the silence before a storm.
  • It is that calm moment before something terrible happens.
  • With the storm, it is the heavy rain and the thunders. With the family, it could be the bad news of the father's death.

Write a story on,”You discovered a magic pencil while you were traveling with your friends”.
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

Story writing about a magic pencil found while traveling with friends.

Explanation:

Once during our summer vacations, a group of us decided to travel to the hills to escape the big cities and the heat. And as planned, we were on our way by the very next day.

Once we got to the resort, the scenery was something out of a fairytale. Lush green trees, mountains, clear skies- everything was as one would expect nature to be. It was so different from the big cities full of only concrete and noise. Here, everything was serene and you could clearly hear the birds sing.

We went trekking along the path to the forest, a familiar path for the tribal people living in the area. It was during one such leisure walks that I came upon a pencil, normal-looking but attractive in a way that it makes you wonder why it looks so antique. And as it was old looking, I decided that it would make a good souvenir and decided to take it with me.

One day, while taking down details of places we were to visit, I couldn't find any pen to use so I impulsively reach for the pencil, without giving it much thought. Nothing happened when I write down the words. But, as my fingers started doodling and trying to sketch, I was given the shock of my life when the apple that I drew emerged from the paper. Still in shock, I decided to test it again, this time, drawing a leaf. It immediately came real and it was then that I realized maybe this was a magic pencil.

I did not want to tell my friends about it or else they will either make fun of me or try to take it away from me. So, hiding the pencil, I tried my best to act normal. I didn't have the chance to try out the pencil for the whole trip. And on the very last day of our trip, I thought I might as well see if it still works. And sure, it did. Still unsure what to do with it, I then decided to take it with me to the city.

But unfortunately, I lost the pencil during the train ride, or maybe someone mistook it for a normal pencil and just used it and forgot to put it back. Whatever has happened is in the past, but I will, for sure, remember the experience I had in using the pencil. It was the one personal memory that will remain with me for the rest of my life.
