Spain.  When Prince Ferdinand of Aragon married his cousin Princess Isabella of Castile, it was now possible to join the two kingdoms and this brought stability to the country.  Catholicism became the main religion of Spain and they sponsored explorations to search new lands.  A good example of this was when Queen Isabella supported Christopher Columbus for his voyage in 1492.  They also acquired several territories and their children married other monarchs in Europe. Under their reign, Spain grew in power.</span>

It was written to call for peace during the Vietnam War, and urged people around the world to live in unity. One thing I like about this song is how it can bring different people together as one, as it is a very unifying piece.  (hope this helps :)                                                                                                                                          

Explanation: Lennon was asking us to imagine a place where the things that divide us, like religion and possessions, did not exist. He felt that would be a much better place. This song is a strong political message sugarcoated in a beautiful melody.
