Y=(-8x-4)^(1/3)
y=(x)^(1/3)
y=a*(b(x-c))^(1/3))+d
In this equation, a is equal to one and d is equal to 0, so the equation is reduced to y=(b(x-c))^(1/3). Here, you can see that the b value is equal to -8, which would leave a c value of (-1/2) according to the equation.
This would mean that the transformations from y=x^(1/3) to the equation in the problem would include:
a horizontal shift of -1/2, or to the left of the y-axis by .5 units,
a reflection across the x-axis, due to the negative b value,
and the b value of 8, ignoring the sign due to that demonstrating the reflection, would mean that it is horizontally compressed by 1/8.

Write an exponential function in the form y=ab^xy=ab
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

y=20(6)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

hello :

the graph passes through the point (0,20) : when x=0  and  y=20  :

20= ab^0    so a=20 because : b^0 = 1

the graph passes through the point (3,4320) : when x=3.  and  y=4320  : 4320= ab^3  but : a=20   so : 4320 = 20b^3

so : b^3 = 4320/20 = 216...... 216 =  6^3

b^3 = 6^3

b=6

the function is : y=20(6)^x

The container that holds the water for the football team is 7/10 full. after pouring out 3 gallons of water, it is 1/2 full. how
Andreyy89
Hello!

So you figure that 7/10-5/10=2/10 that leave you with 1/5 left over. So if you take that into effect, all you have to do it multiply those 3 gallons by 5. Which gives you 15. So, your answer would be 15 gallons.

I hope this helped!

I am, yours most sincerely
