The correct answer is "called the military's press briefings "five o'clock follies".

The Vietnam War only became a subject of major relevance to the press after the United States decided to send an important number of troops in 1965. Many journalists decided to use military transportation provided by the US Army to go into the battlefield. This resulted in numerous deaths of journalists. However, the vast majority of them would establish on Saigon and got their stories from the US Public Affairs daily briefings which would be known as  "five o'clock follies".
