According to Roger Williams, the English usually justify their attacks against the Indians by saying that they were only defending themselves. Even if they were colonizers and settled on lands that did not belong to them, they saw themselves superior to the native Americans whom they called the savages. With their religion and their European education, they thought they had the right to dominate this uncivilized population and therefore did not accept that the Indians attack them to recover their lands.

Further explanation

Roger Williams was an English pastor from the early 17th century who started his career in the United States in Boston, in the Massachusetts colony. Disappointed by the English church, he had become puritanical and wanted to defend his new ideas in America. Unfortunately, he was not be received by the American preachers who were against his philosophy, especially on the intervention of the state in religion issue. Roger Williams thought that the state should stay neutral and not deal with people's beliefs.

His conflicts with other pastors of Massachusetts forced him to move elsewhere. He decided to start a new life in the middle of an Indian community. He became their friend quickly and defended them all his life. It was him who created the state of Rhode Island and the Providence plantation where Native Americans were respected. Roger Williams was sure that America belonged to them and that the Europeans had to do everything to live in harmony with them.

They claimed that their wars were defensive. Whenever they attacked they would claim that the Natives had committed a transgression or had attacked first or were a threat or anything similar. This enabled them to do terrible things and still look like heroes in the eyes of the public.

In what way does the judicial branch check the powers of the executive branch?
Aleks04 [339]

The correct answer is D) it can declare presidential actions unconstitutional.

The Judicial branch checks the powers of the executive branch in that it can declare presidential actions unconstitutional.

In order to eliminate the possibility that one power had more faculties and could control the other two, the United States Constitution created a doctrine of System of Separation of Powers and a Check and Balance System. This way, the Constitution defines clearly the power of the Executive branch (the Presidency), the Legislative branch (the Congress), and the Judicial branch (the Supreme Court). In the case of the question, the Judicial branch checks the powers of the executive branch in that it can declare presidential actions unconstitutional.

Watch your words about security measures or the enemy may use them to attack American ships.

Answer: Option B.

Explanation:

In the poster which has been talked about, there is a ship which has been burnt and the sailors are saving their lives by rowing away in a life boat. Trying to save themselves.

The image is trying to say that we have to be very careful about what we speak and what we do. Because this might give a chance to the enemies to take advantage of the situation if they get to know our safety measures and they might try to harm us. So we have to be very careful of what we plan and how we plan and make sure that our enemies do not get any idea of what we plan.
