B) 8x = 72 is your answer

You figure this out by using cross multiplication which is taking the denominator (The bottom number) from the first fraction, multiplying it by the numerator (The top number) of the second fraction, and then setting it equal to the numerator of the first fraction, and multiplying it to the denominator of the second fraction. This will basically look like an X, or a cross, thus it's name cross multiplication.

So for this problem it'll be 8x = 12(6) For the answer though they simply solved 12(6) and changing it to 72, thus your answer B) 8x = 72

Hope this helps!

Can the sum of two mixed numbers be equal to 2? Explain why or why not.
Vesna [10]

-- A "mixed number" is (a whole number) plus (a fraction).

-- Two mixed numbers = (two whole numbers) and (two fractions).

-- The smallest whole number is ' 1', so when you add up all of that,
the smallest possible sum is      (2) plus (two fractions).

-- So the sum must always be greater than  2 .

============================================

<em>THAT'S IF BOTH MIXED NUMBERS ARE POSITIVE </em>.

<em>If one of them is negative</em>, then it's easy to do:

(3 and 1/2) + negative (1 and 1/2) = <u>2</u>

(25 and 7/10) + negative (23 and 7/10) = <u>2</u>

First, find your total sales. You do this by adding all the sales together, 2030+1540+1800=5370. Now, for each person, divide their sales by total sales.
Lola) 2030/5370=203/537≈0.378=37.8%
Ahmed) 1540/5370=154/537≈0.287=28.7%
Tommy) 1800/5370=180/537=60/179≈0.335=33.5%

Consider that 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters. Which three statements are true for converting 18 feet to centimeters?
serg [7]

Answer:

There are 548.64 cm in 18 feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that, 1 inch = 2.54 centimeters.

We need to convert 18 feet to centimeters

Also, 1 foot = 12 inch

Firstly we will convert 18 feet to inch.

18 feet = 12 × 18 inch

= 216 inch

Now to convert 18 feet to centimeters, multiply 216 inch by 2.54 cm as follows :

216 inch = 2.54×216 centimeters

= 548.64 cm

Hence, there are 548.64 cm in 18 feet.
