How did the Cold War affect the psychology of the United States and Soviet Union?

History

The Cold War was a period of conflicts/confrontation between the US and the Soviet Union, but according to experts, it was much more than that; it was a conflict between Capitalism and Socialism.

Actions from both sides, in terms of propaganda war and media coverage of the events, created an atmosphere of instability and distrust among the two nations (that's affected the globe as a whole, and also contributed to the ongoing polarization Capitalism x Socialism/Communism).

One main reason for studying civilization is TO REVEAL THE CONTRIBUTION OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATION.
Everything has an origin and humans of nowadays are product of men of yesterday. Men study history in order to understand our origin and how far we have progress through time. Comparing the knowledge of present societies with the ancient ones help us to become aware of how the ancient civilization has contributed to today's developments.

In 1870, galveston thrives as a city because of which industry?
madreJ [45]

In 1870, Galveston thrives as a city because of cotton industry.

Explanation:

The city became one of the nation's busiest ports and the world's leading port for cotton exports. Galveston became Texas' largest city and, during that era, was its prime commercial center. In 1900, the island was struck by a devastating hurricane. Even post-Hurricane Katrina, this event holds the record as the United States' deadliest natural disaster.

The American settlers quickly introduced the slave-based cotton-plantation system, expanded commercial livestock production, and developed concentrations of small, non slave holding family farms. The large influx of Anglo-American settlers led to the Texas revolt, the independence of Texas, and the subsequent war between the United States and Mexico, followed by the admission of Texas into the Union.

As time passed the essentially pastoral character of Texas agriculture became more heavily a plow and commercial system.

arms and plantations primarily utilized teams of oxen for plowing, and occasionally horses or mules. Mules became much more prevalent after the Civil War. Plows were fabricated locally, or, when cash was available, farmers might import farm equipment such as the Eagle plow through New Orleans and Galveston. Commerce generally depended on wagons to and from the port of Galveston; some produce was floated down the rivers. Although steamboat transportation and railroad construction began in Texas before the Civil War, river steamer and rail transportation were generally postwar developments.

After the war the traditional cotton plantation system continued, but with tenant farmers in place of slaves.

The meridian 120° east of Greenwich is what country?

Answer:

Are Countries around the North Pole across the Arctic Ocean, Asia, the Indian Ocean, Australia, the Southern Ocean, and Antarctica to the South Pole.

Explanation:

Note that geographically speaking we have four cardinal points namely– north, south, east and west. Furthermore, the word meridian simply implies an imaginary circle passing through a given cardinal point on the earth's surface and the terrestrial poles.

Thus, If we are at imaginary point of 120° east we find the countries in those locations above.
