Make same denomenator

denomenators are 2,4, and 8
common denomenator is 8

$1 \space\ and \space\ \frac{1}{2}+\frac{3}[4}+\frac{1}{8}$
$1+\frac{1}{2}+\frac{3}[4}+\frac{1}{8}$
mulltiply 1/2 by 4/4, multiply 3/4 by 2/2
$1+\frac{4}{8}+\frac{6}{8}+\frac{1}{8}=$
$1+\frac{11}{8}=$
$1+\frac{8}{8}+\frac{3}{8}=$
$1+1+\frac{3}{8}=$
$2+\frac{3}{8}=$
$2 \space\ and \space \frac{3}{8}$

a. 2 and 3/8 cups
b. you would need more than 2 and 3/8 cups, so you could use the 3 cup or 4 cup bowl (I prefer more space so I would pick the 4 cup one, personal prefernce)

1.5+0.75+0.125 = 2.375

B)
3 cup because it only is 2.375 which means that 2 is too small and 4 is too large but 3 is perfect.
