Larry rides his bike at a rate of 8.8 inches per second. About how m any miles per hour can Larry ride his bike?
sveta [45]

Larry rides his bike 0.5 miles per hour

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that Larry rides his bike at a rate of 8.8 inches per second

To find: Speed in miles per hour

So we have to convert 8.8 inches per second to miles per hour

<em><u>Use the conversion factor</u></em>

1 \text{ inch } = \frac{1}{63360} \text{ mile }

1 \text{ second } = \frac{1}{3600} \text{ hours }

<em><u>Convert 8.8 inches per second to miles per hour</u></em>

8.8 \frac{\text{inches}}{\text{second}} = 8.8 \times \frac{1}{63360} \times 3600 \times \frac{\text{miles}}{\text{hour}}

8.8 \frac{\text{inches}}{\text{second}} = 8.8 \times 0.00001578282 \times 3600 \times \frac{\text{miles}}{\text{hour}}\\\\8.8 \frac{\text{inches}}{\text{second}} = 0.5 \frac{miles}{hour}

Thus Larry rides his bike 0.5 miles per hour

What is the answer for number 2? Plz help
g100num [7]
Hello! So, the sum of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. There’s already an angle that is 60 degrees. So, there are 120 degrees left to be found. You set this formula up as 3y = 120. Divide each side by 3 to isolate the y. When you solve that, you should get y = 40.
2y = 80 degrees
y = 40 degrees

Please help! I don't know how to give brainliest haha but I'll give 5 stars :)
Luda [366]

Angle 4 is congruent to Angle 7 because of the theorem If 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal then corresponding angles are congruent (Thats the reason for statement 2).  The 3rd statement is correct if the reason for it is not supplementary angles but is angle addition postulate (The reason for the third one is angle addition postulate).  Lastly, the answer isnt transitive property but is substitution propert because you substitute angle 7 with angle 4 (last reason is substitution).

Hope I helped
