According to the events that occurred in the book of Acts 19:24-40, the Jews in Ephesus made an accusation against Apostle Paul for sedition against their goddess and business.

They claimed that Paul had come to make people stop patronising their arts and crafts because of the statements he made while preaching to them. He mentioned that their goddess Diana was false and only promoted promiscuity and immorality and worshipping her was idolatry.
