A want is something that is essential for survival, such as food and medical care, and a need is something we desire

This is false, and the opposite is true!

A want, used as a noun, refers to something that is not necessary, but something that is wanted, desired only.

A need, in contrast, refers to something that is necessary, so it is not merely something that is wanted, but something that is very essential.

The answer is false. Something we need is NOT something we desire. It is something we n e e d for survival. A want is a desire, not something we actually need.

Hard choosing from "A" to "D", but my best answer that I came up with is "D" or "4"
The word "Who's" is a plural and actual stands for "Who is" So if you put that in that sentence "Who is book about blue whales is this?" Or for "2" the word "Whomever's" doesn't make since in the sentence.. "Whomever's book about blue whales is this?" And the same with "3". But with "4" "Whose" It fits in that sentence.. "Whose book about blue whales is this?" It's best if you read the sentence out loud and see which word best fits in that sentence.

Excerpt from 2000 California Census: Employment
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

The most effective substitution for the phrase "This was probably due to" in this sentence is - This discrepancy can be attributed in part to. The correct option is Option C.

Explanation:

This particular sentence from the excerpt taken from the 2000 California Census is a person’s opinion about the reason for a particular discrepancy.

In the sentence, someone is stating that something must have happened because of the high unemployment rates in the timber-related industries in the year 2000 and thus, uses the phrase "This was probably due to” which indicates someone’s own thoughts about something. Due to this, option C fits as the best substitution for this phrase.

What do paragraphs 65 - 72 reveal about the kids point of view?
love history [14]

Answer:

The kids realize that the rain is less enjoyable than the sun.

Explanation:

It seems that the kids haven't seen the Sun in a very long time, years even. They are living underground on Venus and they have been for years. So in this moment, they finally see the Sun and all run outside to play and have fun and soak in the warmth after such a long time.
