It allows the citizen to own and operate a private business for profit.

In this system, it is one that includes limited government administration of activities. This commercial organization enables people to recognize their own institutions. Since individuals have the capability to control their own affairs, they can check who they hire, what commodities they make, how much they will price for their goods.

lozanna [386]

The answer is A. Drove production costs up. It drove production costs down, because they were able to take less time to make the products as well as less materials because 1) standardized parts were invented around the same time, and 2) they didn't have people preparing everything so materials weren't wasted.

Why was Rome able to have larger cities and a larger population than Greece?
deff fn [24]
First, they imported a LOT of food from other parts of the empire. Rome is now built on the remains of Roman food packaging material: broken up pottery. Romans mainly lived on what is know as the mediterranean triangle: Wheat, wine and olive oil. Bread made up 70 to 80% of most of the Romans diet. Three kinds of food that are pretty easy to transport over longer distances. There were huge imports of grain from north Africa and Egypt. Rome lived on that grain. Wine and olive oil came from almost everywhere.
