There are numerous reasons why counting your steps can be helpful. One of the reasons is that by counting your steps you are being more active trying to get your goal steps in for the day.

Further Explanation:

Counting steps has become more popular in the last few years. There are smart watches, Fit Bits, and other devices that a person can wear to help them count their overall steps for the day. Smart phones also track your steps and any exercise that you may do.

People who count their steps are more active than they used to be, they can decrease health issues from developing because they are getting cardiovascular exercise. The recommended steps per day is 10,000. Many people do way over 10,000 but some may only do those 10,000 and stop. The best thing to do is set a small daily goal and each day raise it until you can get to the number of desired steps.
