When Georgia hosted the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, it provided a temporary economic boost for the state. The buildings, hotels, and restaurants that were constructed led to the city becoming more of a tourist attraction. They also built attractions such as an aquarium. The population of Atlanta increases tremendously because of all of the upgrades that were made, making it a more attractive place to call home.
Lincoln believed that the South had never legally seceded from the United States, so he planned to forgive the South for the past. He issued the Proclamation of Amnesty and Reconstruction in 1863 to announce his intention to reunite the once-united states.
