I think what is wrong with the sentence is that it is a run-on sentence.
I would personally do choice C, because C is a good prompt that you can use in your favor during the essay. First off, you can point out the most important ones for your body paragraphs, but you would have to go really in depth with it and explain a lot. Then, you can also point out how Tolstoy tends to use these literary devices in his works which I guess is another good point.
