I think that yes it was worth it because without that war many more Jews would have been killed and who knows what Hitler would have done next if he succeeded and killed all the Jews.

They had no freedom of religion so they sought out somewhere they could practice their own religion without being killed or getting in serious trouble. They were forced to practice another religion like Catholicism, however did they did not they would be accused of heresy. Heresy if when you commit a crime of faith under a ruling.
