The history of medieval Asia was basically defined by the region's climate and geography. The region has made agriculture difficult, and beyond the sea it has been deprived of much trade. Therefore, a few major cities have emerged in the region. The nomadic peoples have taken over horses from the steppe over the region for thousands of years
