Daisy, Tom, and Gatsby are filthy rich people. Nick(the narrator) is fascinated with Gatsby, but Nick plays hardly any noticable role in the story...he's more of an onlooker of all the rich-people drama. Gatsby and Daisy fall "in love" or perhaps they're just lustful for one another. Long story short, Daisy runs over Tom's lover Myrtle and kills her...and then a couple days later Gatsby dies in his fancy pool.
