Both temperature and air pressure affect the form of matter. However, temperature contributes more to the form of matter.

By raising the temperature, you're adding energy. This energy gives the individual molecules/atoms the ability to overcome the forces that hold them together. This can be seen with a solid to a liquid or a liquid to a gas.

On the other hand, y lowering the temperature, you're removing energy. The lack of energy results in less movement. Gases condense into liquid because they don't have enough energy to stay away from each other. Liquids solidify because they don't have enough energy to slide past each other; they get stuck in place.

Seventy-five percent of the apple pies were sold on Tuesday, and the remainder were thrown out. If 12 apple ples were sold Tuesd
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

4 pies

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

We know that 12 apple pies are 75 percent of the total apple pies.

Let x = # of pies total.

This means that 75% of x, or 0.75x is 12

Solve:

  • 75% of x = 12
  • 0.75x = 12
  • x = 16

Now, 16 is the total number of pies. To find the number thrown out, we subtract 12.

16 - 12 = 4

4 pies were thrown out

" A car is travelling around a horizontal circular track with radius r = 230 m at a constant speed v = 17 m/s as shown. The angl
Luda [366]
R = 230 m
v = 17 m/s

Formula: |Ac| = v^2 / r

Point A

|Ac| = v^2 / r = (17m/s)^2 / (230m) = 1.257 m/s^2

Components:

cos(25) = - [ x-component / |Ac| ] => x-component = -|Ac|*cos(25)
sin(25)  = - [y-component / |Ac| ] => y-component = - |Ac|*sin(25)

x-component = - 1.256 * cos(25) m/s^2 = - 1.139 m/s^2
y-component =  -1.256 * sin (25) m/s^2 = - 0.531 m/s^2

Point B

|Ac| = 1.256

x-component = - 1.256 cos(58) = - 0.666 m/s^2
y-component = + 1.256 sin(58) = + 1.065 m/s^2

Three pieces of wood measure 20 cm, 41 cm, 44 cm. If the same amount is cut off each piece, the remaining length can be formed i
SIZIF [17.4K]

The length that can be cut off from the three given pieces of wood equally to form a right triangle is 5 cm

Given parameters:

dimension of the three pieces of wood = 20 cm, 41 cm and 44 cm

To find:

  • the length that is cut off to form a right triangle

let the length that is cut off from each of the wood = y

From Pythagoras theorem, we will have the following equation.

(44-y)^2 = (20-y)^2 + (41-y)^2\\\\expand \ the \ equation \ as \ follows;\\\\1936 - 88y + y^2 = 400 - 40y + y^2  + 1681 - 82y + y^2\\\\simplify \ by \ collecting \ similar \ terms \ together\\\\(1936 - 400- 1681) + (-88y + 40y+ 82y) + (y^2 - 2y^2) = 0\\\\-145 +34y - y^2 = 0\\\\multiply \ through \ by \ (-1)\\\\y^2-34y + 145 = 0\\\\factorize \ the \ above \ quadratic\  equation\\\\y^2 -5y - 29y + 145 = 0\\\\y(y - 5) -29(y - 5)=0 \\\\(y -5)(y-29) = 0\\\\y = 5 \ \ \ or \ \ \ \ y = 29

Since the least measurement of one of the pieces of the wood is 20 cm, we cannot cut off 29 cm.

Thus, the highest amount we can cut off equally is 5 cm

<span>We have the number 81 as the largest perfect square in the range of the statement.
Since we have it as the largest square, then its largest possible modulus of "x" will be when </span>x^2 = 81<span>, that is, when </span>| x | = 9<span>.
Since it is the largest possible module, the rightmost number of the "0" in the line of integers, with the largest number being x = 9 and the leftmost number of the "0" in the line of integers, , Will be </span>x = - 9<span>

Therefore, the difference requested in the statement is:
</span>v = 9 - (- 9) \longrightarrow v = 9+9 \longrightarrow \boxed{\boxed{v = 18}}
