A population of fruit flies on an island lay their eggs in some rotting fruit. Some of the fruit is blown into the ocean by a st

orm and washes up on another island that is too far apart for the flies to fly back to their original island. Over time the two populations change so much that they are different species. What must be true of the two populations of flies at this point?

Answer:

The correct answer would be "the two population must not able to interbreed".

Species is defined as the group of organisms in which male and female organisms are able to breed successfully that is, they are able to produce a viable offspring.

Members of two species are not able to interbreed successfully naturally.

As it is provided that the two populations have evolved (geographical isolation) into two different species then, they must not be able to interbreed successfully.

They no probably no longer eat the same things, or one of the populations has adapted to its environment and the other flies continue to be normal.

A _______cross explores two traits.
dihybrid
monohybrid
multihybrid
hybrid
Cloud [144]

Answer:

The correct option is A. dihybrid

Explanation:

A cross is drawn to generate the possible outcomes of traits being passed from parents to offsprings.

A monohybrid cross can be described as a cross in which only one trait is studied. For example, just studying the trait for eye colour.

A dihybrid cross can be described as a cross in which two traits are studies in a single cross. For example, studying the traits for eye colour and skin colour.

What happens when there is a high concentration of positive transcription factors but a low affinity for the positive transcript
Troyanec [42]

When there is a high concentration of positive transcription factors but a low affinity for the positive transcription factor

Transcription factors are proteins that regulate the transcription of genes—that is, their copying into RNA, on the way to making a protein.

Proteins called transcription factors, however, play a particularly central role in regulating transcription. These important proteins help determine which genes are active in each cell of your body.

How does transcription factors affect gene expression?

Under the influence of transcription factors, the various cells of the body can function differently though they have the same genome. Transcription factors attach to one or more series sites, which are called transcription element binding sites (TFBSs), binding to specific DNA sequences of the genes they control
