There is one adverb in this sentence - "often", but it's not part of the advern phrase.

The whole adverb phrase actually does not contain an adverb - it's "Before automobiles came on the scene" - answer a) . It's an adverb phrase because it answers the question of "when"

NEED HELP ASAP

Write a brief paragraph describing a setting for a story.
AveGali [126]

You're in a hurry so I'll do my best:

The sun was setting over the lush greenery that surrounded the crystal-clear lake. Fresh dew was still fragrant in the air from the morning that arrived and passed as quickly as I could notice it was there. Autumn leaves were still floating through the air and wafting onto the surface of the shallow pond, bringing with them a crisp, cool feeling of evening.

Hope that suffices... Be sure not to copy word for word.

Read the excerpts from the beginning, middle, and end of "A Genetics of Justice” by Julia Alvarez.
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

C. Alvarez shows how her lifelong fascination with her parents' life under the dictatorship was the basis for her writing.

Explanation:

Throughout the text, Alvarez shows how her lifelong fascination with her parents' life under the dictatorship was the basis for her writing. In these lines, Alvarez demonstrates that the dictatorship was always a big part of her family's life. This led her to try to imagine what life was like in those days, and to want to know more about this mysterious and unknown topic that was nevertheless always present. This became the motivation for writing her book.
