You need to find a common denominator for the equation 1/18+ 5/6

That would be 18. Since 1/18 already has a denominator of 18 there is no need for anything to happen, but as for 5/6 you need to multiply it by 3. Whatever you do at the bottom, you do at the top, so the fraction would be 15/18 now you just need to add them up in which you get 16/18 but if need to simplify it, you need to divide it by 2 which is 8/9

So the answer is 8/9

suppose a parabola has an axis of symmetry at x=-2, a maximum height of 8, passes through the point (-6, 2). Wrire the equation
Virty [35]

Answer:

y = -3/8(x + 2)^2 + 8

Step-by-step explanation:

vertex form is

y = a(x - b)^2 + c     where a is a constant and (b,c) is the vertex.

The maximum is at (-2, 8)  because x 8 = height and x =-2 is equn. of symmetry

So here we have

y = a(x - (-2))^2 + 8

y = a(x + 2)^2 + 8

Now at the point (-6, 2):

2 = a(-6+2)^2 + 8

2 = 16a + 8

16a = -6

1 = -3/8.

So our equation is y = 3/8(x + 2)^2 + 8

A necklace has and matching bracelet have two types of beads. The necklace has 12 large beads and 8 small beads and weighs 88 gr
miv72 [106K]

Weight of one large bead is 1.5 grams and weight of one small bead is 8.75 grams.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

Weight of one large bead = x

Weight of one small bead = y

According to given statement;

12x+8y=88     Eqn 1

5x+2y=25      Eqn 2

Multiplying Eqn 2 by 4

4(5x+2y=25)\\20x+8y=100\ \ \ Eqn\ 3\\

Subtracting Eqn 1 from Eqn 3

(20x+8y)-(12x+8y)=100-88\\20x+8y-12x-8y=12\\8x=12

Dividing both sides by 8

\frac{8x}{8}=\frac{12}{8}\\x=1.5

Putting x=1.5 in Eqn 1

12(1.5)+8y=88\\18+8y=88\\8y=88-18\\8y=70

Dividing both sides by 8

\frac{8y}{8}=\frac{70}{8}\\y=8.75

Weight of one large bead is 1.5 grams and weight of one small bead is 8.75 grams.

1. Last year a fishing license cost $52.00. This year the license will cost $46.80.
Talja [164]

Answer:

10%

Step-by-step explanation:

First, get the drop in value by deducting the price this year from last year's price.

Value decrease=$52.00-$46.80=$5.20

To express it as a percentage, we divide it by the original price which was $52.00 then multiply by 100 hence the percentage decrease will be

\frac {5.20}{52.00}\times 100=10\ %

Therefore, the price decreases by 10%
