Which statement BEST explains the overall success or failure of the Compromise of 1850?
Vlad1618 [11]

Answer:

The statement that BEST explains the overall success of the Compromise of 1850 is The compromise was largely successful due to its effectiveness in resolving sectional tensions.

Explanation:

The Compromise of 1850 was largely successful because it helped to resolve a number of rising tensions between the States. The compromise was actually 5 different bills that were passed by Congress. The Mexican-American War had fueled tensions between the northern and southern states as they had acquired a vast expanse of new territory including New Mexico, Utah, and California. Texas had been claiming the area of present-day New Mexico but the federal government took over Texas' debt to get Texas to give up their claim. California was admitted to the Union as a free state, and the other areas of the Mexican succession were allowed to decide if they would allow slavery or not.

Analyze the delicate balance between tribal and national identity in present-day Africa?
Murljashka [212]
The tribal and national identity in Africa are a big problem. Lots of the people from certain tribes identify them selves as by the tribal identity first, and secondary by the national identity. The problem emerges when one group of people do not recognize the other group of people as part of the national identity because they differ in culture, religion, language. So this very often creates conflicts that last for years, on multiple occasions even genocides have been performed, and some tribes do not allow members of other rival tribes on the territory where they are dominant. So all in all, the national identity suffers, the people suffer, and the governments haven't been able to find a solution yet.
