A fetish is an object, usually inanimate, that a person has an abnormal fondness or admiration of. This could be because the person simply likes the item to a point of obsession, or because they are persuaded to believe that the item possesses magical or mysterious characteristics that make it special.

"Did you hear that Mandy has a fetish for her blue hairbrush?"
