What value of x is in the solution set of 2x – 3 > 11 – 5x?

Mathematics

Simplify the inequality.

2x - 3 > 11 - 5x
2x > 14 - 5x <-- Add 3 to both sides
7x > 14 <-- Add 5x to both sides
x > 2 <-- Divide both sides 7

In order to be in the solution, x has to be greater than 2.

In interval notation: (2, ∞)

In set builder notation: {x | x ∈ R, x > 2}

Boden conjectures that in a right triangle, the sine of one acute angle is always equal
ruslelena [56]

Answer:

Boden's conjecture is correct

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

If two angles are complementary, the cofunction identities state that the sine of one equals the cosine of the other and vice versa.

A right triangle, has two acute angles.

The two acute angles are complementary

so

In any right triangle, the sine of one acute angle is equal to the cosine of the other acute angle

therefore

Boden's conjecture is correct

(Let me know if this helped, I hope I didn’t make a mistake)

Step-by-step explanation:

example, the additive inverse of the positive number 5 is -5. That's because their sum, or 5 + (-5) = 0
