A Greek-City state was an independent city that governed itself according to its principles. It was connected to other city states through a shared culture and religion, but politically  they were independent from each other. The power was held by men who were adult and free who could participate in politics and decide on the future of the state. Women and children were ranked lower than that and had no such power. Lowest ranked were slaves who were either slaves as punishment for breaking laws or were imprisoned after wars.

Yes, this is true. In brown vs board of education of Topeka, the case got a legal victory due to the fact that it wasn't separate but equal, as the girl had to walk 20 blocks - a few miles - to get to her school, as she attends a black school. white people were able to get to schools near them, which is totally unfair. so the supreme court said 'separate but equal' is unconstitutional.

Northern Islamic leaders ruled Sudan under Islamic law and those living in the South were Christian and animistic faiths. The beginning of Islamic law started a civil war as the South was ready to be independent from Islamic law. </span>
