It looks like half cat half dog. Inherited traits would be like if they were seperated. The cat part still acts like a cat, and the dog part still acts like a dog. The dog part can fend off crooks in the wild and protect the cat.
considering it's impossible to make a cat-dog hybrid I wouldn't do that. But you could make a bioluminescent lizard or frog. Glowing in the dark would help them find a mate easier but would also make them more visible to predators.
